The Way There
This is one of those drives where I wish I had a dashcam to record. It was so peaceful, the sky was gray and calm, and there were smooth turns and hills. The area was mostly farmland with occasional buildings and maybe a small pond or two. ‘It was peaceful in the country’ as Mildred Bailey liked to sing.
What I Did
Once I arrived, I parked in the first parking lot I saw and got out to look around. The gray sky and slight wind made perfect weather for me but at the same time I also like exploring things in the sunlight. Anyway, there were picnic tables spread about and a playground that a kid was playing on. I saw lots of fishermen out-which is what this state park is mostly for.
I went back in the car and drove to a further parking lot which was much bigger and walked all around in the grass and near the beach. There was really nothing for me to do there. There is a 1/2 mile nature trail to do and there are kayak rentals available.
As I didn’t do much-I really hope one day I can come back when it’s warmer and kayak!
