Info:

  • Is a lake where you can boat, jet-ski, tube, fish, etc
  • Has numerous restaurants within the state park (my favorite is the Prop House btw)
  • Has 2 trails

Where is this located? Mahoning County

I’ve known Lake Milton State Park all my life because of my paternal grandparents. They have a house on the lake so I’ve grown up boating, jet-skiing, and tubing. I’ve been blessed. Lake Milton has been very near and dear to me.

Lake Milton is also a state park in Ohio (1/75). Located in Mahoning County and approximately 30 minutes from the University of Mount Union lies 1640 acres of bliss. Over the lake there are three bridges. For fun, we would go out on the jet-ski and stop somewhat where the trucks could see us passing by and pump our fists signaling them to honk. Most did. Day and night, especially during the summer (duh), you’ll see plenty of boaters with their families having fun tubing and water-skiing. During the mornings, you’ll most definitely see fishermen slowly skirting along the lake hoping to catch a catfish.

On Business Visit

As you all know, this will be the 6th State Park I’m covering…officially! Here’s some info about the separate things I visited on business.

I walked the paved path to the gazebo for the first time. There’s really not any hiking trails you can do here except walk that short paved path and one by the beach. You can sit in the gazebo and watch all around you, visit the nearby businesses, and do water activities.

It isn’t just all water activities, though. Recreation includes:

My family has always stuck to water activities. There’s also a beach (more like a simple strip of sand) where you can hangout, tan, swim, whatever.

When visiting the lake always stay until sunset. Especially on a calm summer day I like to sit out on my grandparents dock and just breathe. Taking in that lake air, soaking in the sunset, and hearing the quiet, idle boat pass me with the occasional soft lake hitting against it I can truly say I’m at peace here.
