  • Drink Tried: Peanut Butter Mocha Latte

I wanted to try a new coffee shop before I hit up the courthouse. I decided Compass was where it was at. When I entered and loved how it was set up-lots of space with plenty of tables and chairs, a mini bookstore library, and a big barista counter. Usually, the first time I go to a new coffee shop I get a specialty drink because that will tell me how they do with the most basic drinks.

Theory: if the specialty drink sucks-then most likely the basic coffee drink like a latte will as well. It has proved me right multiple times like at Yada Yada’s.

I had trouble deciding between the Campfire or Peanut Butter Mocha. The barista recommended the PB so I did that. Boy, was it rich and heavy! But good! It was a chocolate latte with peanut butter syrup (house made). I got it iced. It’s a good dessert coffee. The thing that enticed me that I will have to try for next time is their latte flight. It is 4 latte’s with any flavors. That will give me a chance to taste many of their flavors and give a proper review!!

  • Drink Tried: Sweet Moses Latte

On a whim, I decided to go back to one of the first coffee shops I reviewed. I wanted to try their specialty drink the ‘Sweet Moses’ a honey and brown sugar flavored latte. I don’t like honey but I decided to suck it up and give it a shot. There were more people there than last time-about 7-10 in total. I ordered and received a student discount (15% off) which I loved.

I got the drink and took a sip-boy it was smooth and had somewhat of a sweet aftertaste. The only thing I disliked was that there was way too much whole milk in which some sips all I tasted was the milk.
