First Time

  • Drink Tried: Iced Mocha Latte

The first time I went there was a quick stop to meet my friend Abby. She has highly recommended it in our conversations about coffee. When we wanted to meet in Downtown Hudson (I’ll post an article later about it) on a very nice, hot day we took the perfect opportunity to have coffee there.

As I arrived late to our meeting, the walk up to the coffee shop was beautiful. Shop after shop lined the street. I’ve always loved Downtown Hudson since I was little. It’s filled with restaurants, shops like ‘Loft’ and ‘White House Black Market’ and coffee shops like ‘Starbucks’ and ‘Open Door’ as well as ‘Heartwood Coffee Roasters.’

The inside was what a coffee shop should look like. Comfortable furniture, many places to sit, and trinkets filled the shop. The wallpaper was striped and different shaped frames filled with either mirrors or pictures covered portions of the wall. Overall, I loved the interior.

The staff was friendly and prompt. Because I didn’t actually take the time to look at their specialties (because I’m dumb…but there will be a next time!) I stuck with the iced mocha latte. Boring. But, it was delicious which gave me a hint that their specialty will be good. Next time, that theory will either be proven true or false.

The iced mocha latte flavor was very consistent and I never felt I was drinking straight milk at any point. I am very excited to go back!
