- Drink Tried: Shale Mocha
I decided to take a spontaneous new adventure, at 5 p.m. mind you, to a coffee shop! I’ve heard around that in North Canton ‘Shale Craft Coffee’ is the place to go.
I arrived with about 35 minutes until closed so when I saw no one was there I wasn’t too shocked. When I walked in, the two barista’s immediately perked up and welcomed me in enthusiastically lol. I asked them what they recommended and the one they liked the most was the shop’s signature: the Shale Mocha. The drink flavor is brown sugar, cinnamon, and mocha with cinnamon powder.
The menu has many drinks most of them the same you’d get anywhere else. They have other signature drinks such as the ‘Honey Bee’ and ‘Buckeye Blitz.’ They also have muffins, bagels, and biscotti.
After I ordered, I had time to look around and the vibe I got was not cozy but still a wonderful place to get together with friends. It’s roomy and there’s seating outside. The right side has large windows, a white brick wall, and a concrete floor. There’s also a fireplace! The left side is, of course, where you order. There are 4 or 5 tables and instead of a white brick wall its wood paneling.
My drink was called and I immediately took a sip: not as sweet as I thought it was going to be. Instead, all the flavors came together well. The brown sugar was light and the cinnamon and mocha blended together to create a delightful flavor.
Overall, would I get this again? Yes, but I’ll try other favors (and other Canton coffee shops) first!
